£4m ‘Welcome Centre’ at John Radcliffe
PLANS FOR a new £4m ‘Welcome Centre’ at John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford have been approved by Oxfordshire City Council.
Designed by Capita Symonds on behalf of Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust, the building comprises a revamped entrance atrium with reception, waiting area, shops, café and information points.
The existing main entrance has not been substantially updated and modified since the hospital was built in the mid-seventies. The Welcome Centre’s financial model, which has been developed by Capita Symonds, is funded through the income derived from the retail operations to ensure that the full benefits of the scheme are retained by the Trust and the community.
