Clinical academic partnership for Surrey

Clinical academic partnership for Surrey

ROYAL SURREY County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and the University of Surrey are forming a Clinical Academic Collaboration in order to maximise opportunities for research, innovation, education and service improvement to benefit patients.

The institutions, which are co-located, will be increasing the number of scientists and NHS staff working on joint research funding applications, and strengthening existing collaborative links in education and training.

Multi-disciplinary research in medicine and health care conducted at the University currently spans all of its four Faculties. The strategic ambition is to establish Guildford as a 'hub' of excellence for clinical research and education.

The Royal Surrey County Hospital is a leading general hospital and specialist centre for cancer services and treatment. The Trust is also a centre of excellence and training for minimal access surgery.
