Digital Water Delivery Solutions for Healthcare

Water is a vital resource for healthcare and recent engineering and digital advancements have led to new ways in which taps and water outlets can play an active role in reducing risks of HCAI.

At Rada, we believe that digital water delivery is at the heart of driving safety, infection control and sustainability improvements, and our new Intelligent Care digital taps have been designed and engineered to specifically address these challenges.

Intelligent Care reduce the risk of microbial growth as the plastic materials and rubber diaphragms which are a high risk for growth have been removed, reducing the opportunity for outbreaks of waterborne viruses.

Intelligent Care are fully digital, with capabilities to be connected to a building management system or operated via an app. To minimise water and energy wastage caused by over-use the taps can be pre-programmed to optimum temperature and run times and set to automatically duty-flush taps which have not been used, reducing water wastage caused through manual flushing. Electronically kept data provides clear evidence of compliance with national guidelines, meaning that staff time can be spent on delivering the best patient care.

As the healthcare sector looks to digitise estates and build new, smart hospitals, innovation in water management will be pivotal for enhancing the health and wellbeing of patients and delivering long-term sustainability.

Stuart Skinner, Marketing Manager at Rada, comments: “For us, that’s the direction of travel – continuous improvement and driving innovations in water delivery technology that support greener, safer healthcare.”
