Flagship new care home for adults with complex needs

Planning application shows proposals for specialist nursing facility on the Wirral

Exemplar Health Care, a provider of specialist nursing care for adults living with complex needs, has submitted a planning application to open a specialist care home in Wallasey in 2022.

The new facility, to be located in the Alfred Road area, will be the company’s first home to open on the Wirral.

If approved, it will support adults who need specialist nursing care and rehabilitation following a brain injury, spinal cord injury, or stroke, and those living with a complex physical disability or mental health condition.

It will be equipped to meet the needs of its new residents, with every bedroom having an en-suite wet room as well as spacious communal spaces and landscaped gardens.

If planning permission is granted, in addition to providing a supportive community-based service for residents, the home will also create a substantial number of jobs during the construction phase of the works and over 100 full and part-time jobs once operational.

Charlotte Lloyd, commissioning director at Exemplar Health Care, said: “This community-based home will provide person-centered care and rehabilitation that focuses on maximising independence, building everyday living skills, and empowering people to live as fulfilled lives as possible.

“It will be extremely rewarding to be able to support local people who have suffered an accident or are living with complex needs to receive the specialist care that they need close to their homes and loved ones.”
