Vision panels and integral blinds from Vistamatic and BetweenGlassBlinds (BGB) have been installed in a respiratory unit at The John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.

Completed in 26 weeks, the Osler Respiratory Unit is a refurbishment of two tired and dated wards on the fifth floor of the hospital.

And its completion comes after the respiratory team had moved several times as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Side rooms and patient bay doors on the 24-bed ward now feature Vistamatic privacy vision panels in a mix of 404x404 and 250x800 non-fire rated and FD30 fire-rated options.

The panels are operable from both sides, with chromium-plated lever handles suited for either hand or elbow operation.

BGB’s integral blinds were also specified for both internal screens and external windows.

The screens were a mix of both Tilt & Lift and Tilt Only functions and have both single and dual-sided operation, depending on their location.

The external windows were supplied as Tilt & Lift A-rated units.
