Work has been completed on the new Milnrow & Newhey Medical Centre in Rochdale.

Caddick Construction has finished construction of the new building, which will become operator United Healthcare Development’s most-sustainable healthcare facility to date.

The development marks the second healthcare facility built by Caddick for United Healthcare Developments following the recent completion of Carlisle Healthcare South Hub.

Both Milnrow & Newhey Medical Centre and Carlisle Healthcare South Hub have achieved a BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ sustainability rating, achieved through a meticulous design and build process focused on integrated ventilation systems and a ‘fabric first’ energy-efficient approach.

The Milnrow & Newhey Medical centre comprises a single building spanning over 4,470sq m with ground, first and second-floor levels which will be used to provide suites for consultation, examination, treatment and meetings.

Located in Newhey Road, the development will provide easy access to patients travelling from the wider area and construction work included creation of a secure car park for employees, patients, and visitors, a paved area, lighting, and landscaping.

Paul Dodsworth, construction group managing director at Caddick, said: “Ensuring that sustainability is implemented throughout our operations, from design and build right through to the supply chain, is really important to us at Caddick, which is why we’re aiming to become a net zero business by 2040 and are committed to embedding environmental sustainability specification into all of the projects we work on.

“We're pleased to have been entrusted once again to bring United Healthcare Developments’ build and vision to life.

The Milnrow & Newhey Medical centre brings a fantastic facility for the community; and it is with testament to our expert team and the vision from United Healthcare Developments that we’re able to bring this build to the community with a BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ rating.”
