Take Control of Your Gut Health

Did you know, digestive disorders affect up to 40% of people worldwide, impacting millions of lives daily whilst also putting a strain on global healthcare economics?

Symptoms include bloating, cramps, flatulence, and diarrhea, and the problem for many lies in confirming a specific diagnosis. This leaves sufferers unable to make appropriate and informed changes to their diet and lifestyle that could help alleviate symptoms and improve their quality of life.

There are currently a wide range of diagnostics tests used by gastrointestinal consultants, including blood tests, stool samples, and endoscopic procedures. However, breath tests offer a non-invasive and instantaneous tool to analyze your gut health.

We recently launched OMED Health, a dedicated, patient-centric brand, and digital platform that offers patients and clinicians access to breath-based diagnostic tests. We have developed the OMED Health Breath Analyzer and App, allowing patients to better understand their microbiome and responses to foods, to help with their digestive health issues.

You may be wondering how breath can tell us so much about what is going on inside our gut. Hydrogen and methane are well-known gases that are present in exhaled breath and could suggest that something is amiss. Within our guts, bacteria in the large intestine produce hydrogen and methane when digesting sugars. These gases are then transferred into the bloodstream and transported to the lungs, before being exhaled via the breath. Hydrogen and methane levels on breath correspond to the activity of bacteria capable of fermentation in the gut, and so characteristic changes in the levels of these gases can indicate the presence of conditions such as small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), lactose intolerance, fructose intolerance, or other underlying factors.

Our portable breath tester fits in your pocket, allowing you to capture a real-time snapshot of the hydrogen and methane gas on your breath anytime, anywhere. By evaluating these gases in conjunction with your symptoms, you can gain insight into what may be causing them.

Through the tracking of symptoms via the easy-to-use app, along with breath sampling, we can define a treatment plan for you, and continue to measure whether symptoms improve over time. You can also capture any measures you take to relieve the symptoms such as any prescribed medications, over-the-counter medications, changes in diet, supplements, or relaxation techniques.

Understanding what the data means and what you should do next isn’t always easy. That is why our expert GI physiologists will review the data to create a plan that is tailored to you. Your data means your choice – if you would prefer, you can share your data with your own doctor or dietitian.

It is important that we identify if the plan is working for you. You can continue to track symptoms on our app along with using the device, meaning our expert GI physiologists or your doctor, can help optimize your plan over time.

We are in the final stages of bringing this product to you, in the meantime, by to get priority access.
