Land sale paves the way for care home project

A new dementia care home is set to open in York following the sale of Blue Beck House by NHS Property Services. The property was formerly part of the original Clifton Hospital site, but had been part vacant for a number of years. Now, after securing planning permission in August 2022 from City of York Council, the three-storey property and its neighbouring outbuildings will be demolished to make way for the 72 bed dementia-friendly development, which will be managed by Torsion Care. Construction work has already started on the site, with completion expected in spring 2024.
