BEACONMEDAES TURNKEY MGPS SERVICE – PROVIDING OUTSTANDING FACILITIES FOR OUTSTANDING HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS

The medical gas pipeline system (MGPS) is an integral part of hospital design and plays an essential role in the delivery of patient care.  BeaconMedaes is a leader in medical gas pipeline systems, with installations in NHS and private hospitals throughout the UK.

BeaconMedaes offers a comprehensive total turnkey service, a time and cost-effective option that streamlines delivery of the MGPS for new build facilities or as part of a hospital upgrade.  It was recently employed to great effect at the 116-bed NHS Nightingale Hospital Exeter, where BeaconMedaes was part of the team that got this COVID hospital up and running very quickly and in challenging pandemic circumstances.

The Total Turnkey Process

Site survey

An onsite survey allows the team to get a thorough understanding of the site before any design work begins for precise material planning and pricing.  It may include an evaluation of current provision and compliance status, development of isometric drawings and plan drawings, and the gathering of detailed measurements.

In-house design service

BeaconMedaes’ experienced in-house team offers an expert design service to all customers, advising on the design of a new or upgraded MGPS and providing current, up-to-date As Fitted drawings.  In addition, BIM modelling means planning takes into consideration specific obstructions, building details and also different viewpoints for the best possible indication of suitability and positioning of products.

Equipment manufacture

All MGPS equipment is manufactured specifically for the client in BeaconMedaes’ centrally-located UK factory and CE marked to the Medical Device Directive.  The dedicated spare parts department ensures that customers will always have access to high quality OEM parts that ensure long service from equipment.

Installation

A dedicated project manager produces the necessary scope of works and risk assessments for approval by the hospital AP (MGPS) or project manager and monitors progress throughout to ensure projects are delivered safely, on budget and on time.

Testing and commissioning

All medical gas pipeline systems installations are tested by BeaconMedaes prior to handing over to the hospital for a final check and purity test to HTM 02-01 standards.  These procedures follow strict guidelines to ensure the system is patient ready.

Maintenance and service

Failure of a major component in the MGPS can cause the shutdown of key areas and affect patient care.  BeaconMedaes has a large field service force and a 24/7 emergency callout service. Bespoke PPM contracts are also available, providing a practical and economical solution to help ensure that source equipment reliability remains at its highest potential.
