Contractor, Tilbury Douglas, has delivered the third project in a month for Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

A £19m day surgery and outpatient unit has been completed at Chorley and South Ribble Hospital.

The development was the third project successfully delivered by Tilbury Douglas for the trust in November, following on from the completion of the new Ribblesdale Oncology Ward at Royal Preston Hospital and a £4.8m day case theatres project, also at Chorley and South Ribble Hospital.

The new day case theatres and ophthalmology services increases theatre capacity on the site and also allows patients to access state-of-the-art facilities.

The unit includes a dedicated outpatient and diagnostic space, as well as three additional theatres.

Phil Shaw, divisional director for the North West at Tilbury Douglas, said: “Being able to efficiently deliver and handover three projects in such a short period is a real testament to the expertise within our team and our excellent track record in delivering some of the best NHS facilities in the UK.”
